Having a play with Markdown, which I’m hoping will significantly simplify the authoring of posts with lots of markup in them (the maths-themed ones are particularly painful to write at the moment).

It would be nice to have something that would render a good plain-text markup language into the MS Word format widely favoured by publishers. I’m not a big fan of WYSIWYG in general, much preferring to write structured markup and then have some typesetting software like LaTeX format it the way it ought to look.
