Thinking about the book on equality (or on “the varieties of equality worth wanting”), it occurred to me to treat each flavour of equality by considering two texts side by side, for example:
Equal Intelligence: Jacques Ranciere (The Ignorant Schoolmaster), Chomsky (something short on UG and/or cognitive closure)
Racial Equality: Franz Fanon (The Wretched of the Earth), H.P. Lovecraft (The Shadow over Innsmouth)
Sexual Equality: Andrea Dworkin (Intercourse), Gayle Rubins (Thinking Sex). Or possibly some Foucault.
Political Equality: Badiou (Metapolitics), Hayek (The Road to Serfdom) or maybe Rand (Atlas Shrugged)
Suggestions for stronger or more interesting pairings welcome…
