Koz’s over-singing on this one adds to the effect, I think, rather like the way Morrissey’s consistently singing a bit sharp on half the tracks on “Meat is Murder” heightens the impression that it’s really coming from the gut. I love the sludgy inevitability of the riff on this, too.

Update: Original video for 24, which really lays it on thick. In a few weeks’ time it will be a whole decade since I was 24…
