Somewhat faster than the album version, but the ability to carry a song like this solo is admirable.

On the original recording, the drummer sang the “lick my legs” bit in a raspy falsetto. One reviewer marvelled: “how can she do that to her voice?”. Rid of me is still my favourite P J Harvey record - it has a certain clattering Beefheartiness in places, and more humour than Albini’s dry-as-dust production lets on (“mansize, no need to shout / let it all, let it all hang out”).
