Also, I was never that into D&D itself (I dabbled, but that was all…), but it’s a huge part of nerd culture, and lots of other things I’ve loved would never have existed without it.

I loved seeing, years ago on a Christian bookstall, a pamphlet published by US evangelicals called Dungeons And Dragons…Will Blow Your Soul Apart. Alas, D&D was never quite as radical as all that. Maybe a skilled Lacanian as DM could have pulled it more in that direction.
