
The image above is from “The Empty Child”, part one of Steven Moffat’s brilliantly spooky two-parter in the first series of the new Doctor Who. It shows Doctor Constantine being transformed by a medicinal nanovirus into the image of the dead, gasmask-wearing child it encountered when first released into the Earth’s atmosphere (the virus is supposed to repair damaged combatants, but it doesn’t know what human beings are meant to look like; consequently it re-forms every human being who “catches” it into the same template).

This is from Coca-Cola’s new advertising campaign for the Oasis soft-drink (the tagline is “Chug It!”). The campaign depicts eager drinkers of Oasis whose mouths have assumed the shape of the (slightly unusually wide) Oasis bottle rim. The poster campaign is to be reinforced by “viral” marketing…
