I have made the first of a projected pair of posts to the Weblog on the subject of Bonhoeffer and “The Jew”. This first post deals with a brief passage in Bonhoeffer’s Ethics; the second will examine Bonhoeffer’s response to the Nuremberg laws. Both are concerned with the relationship between Bonhoeffer’s Christian philo-semitism and the anti-Judaism of his Pauline-Lutheran theological inheritance.
