Blimey, that Adam Kotsko’s a right clever bastard. And I mean that in a good way. Years ago I thought I might be going to write a thesis on Derrida and “negative theology”. Sensible people discouraged me, and I ended up not writing a thesis about Geoffrey Hill instead. Still, it’s fascinating for me to peer through the looking-glass at someone who’s doing serious academic theology, and talks about books like Nancy’s The Experience of Freedom, a copy of which I once lost on a train in Cardiff. I wish him all the luck in the world, if he’s tangling with stuff like that, although the sane and witty tone of the weblog suggests he’s dealing with it just fine.
