It’s possible that Michael Bywater is still as funny as he used to be; but, given the general trend of things, unlikely. Anyway, last I looked he was writing for the Independent on Sunday, and sod that for a joyless trudge through a grey plastic trench filled with dishwater. So it was with great splurges of enthusiasm that I happened upon Harry Hutton’s blog, Chase me ladies, I’m in the cavalry, which for my money has all the zest, vim, vinegar and general hatred of life that used to make Bywater’s Bargepole such a pleasure.
